Get Lost in the Backwater

Big hand for the guys who hit the stage at the weekend. If you missed them you should be kicking yourself.
Awesome performances from Lecarla all the way from London, Sound over Silence, Art of Privilege and No Dice who rocked the stage over the Friday and Saturday. Great couple of nights too from Billy, Mike and Cal in the Jock Boxes who worked hard to keep you dancing and the requests flowing.The Third weekend of August comes over the hill towards us now and we have another superb assembly of live music artists and tracks you still love to dance too in the nightclub.Just before we get on and meet this weekends entertainment – a wee reminder that after EVERY Friday and Saturday live you can and are free to go onto the upper level where the nightclub action takes place.
If you are in to catch any of our FREE or Ticket events you also get into the nightclub free of charge too and able to dance through till the wee hours where you will hear a wide selection of rock mixed  to suit the requests and what keeps the dance floor busy. You always get a wee bit of everything so just in case you think it’s not your style hang around for 10/15 mins and you’ll find the Rock Jocks will slip into another era or style of rock.
If you are not necessarily into the live music side of things and just want to come to the nightclub then that’s totally fine even though you might catch the tail end of the stage action – it’s still free to get in b4 11pm.

This weekend brings in a bunch of guys from all over Scotland to entertain you.

Friday 17th August
THE LOST

Great buch of young guns from Aviemore area that always rock The Thunder in the Glen crowds with their blend of old and new material. Hard to believe what these guys can push out. New original material that sounds…well classic and Classics that sound awesome. No matter what way you look at it these guys are well worth dropping in to see. FREE to come in and see. Rock Bar is open from 4pm for the early birds with the Live action kicking off around 9pm  - so get in b4 it all starts.



Saturday 18th August
BACKWATER – STATUS QUO Tribute.

From the Ayrshire coast these guys have been faithfully reproducing the Quo from 2008 and had some amazing shows to chalk up. So it gives me great pleasure to bring the guys in at long last for a great night and a tribute to STATUS QUO. Tickets are still available upto the night from the Rock Bar, My Moniker and The Kilt Studio priced £5. We will also have a QUOta available on the door to buy on the night.
If you don’t want to chance not getting a ticket and can’t manage in b4 you can get them online from our WeGotTicket service partners.
The guys will be on stage from 9pm with Mike in the Jock Box providing the music before hand.

Next Weekend we have another Bank Holiday Bonanza – so go get Big Hoss or just make sure you turn up !

Last Weekend in July and what a weekend is in store at the Dread

The last weekend of July is upon us already at DreadnoughtRock and looking back at the Live events and Club nights, all have been very unique so far. Estrella – The furthest travelling band in July from Aberdeen captured a lot of new fans on Saturday and will defo see them in the future back on the Dread stage. A lot of people missed some of their amazing set because they came late. The Live acts kick off at 9pm normally so break the routine and head in early ! – catch yourself some superb live action that just gets better and better.

There has been some superb performances from the artists in July and pretty sure this weekend will be no different with a total of FIVE acts due on the stage over the TWO nights to kick July into Touch with the legendary ROCK CLUB nights.

Ticket Update :
Tickets are selling well for the Dan Reed and SEED gig on 7th Sept so make sure you get yours as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.
Tickets for the for Scotland’s most superb STATUS QUO Tribute BACKWATER are also hotting up for August 18th too. Both are available online at WeGotTickets and in printed form from The Rock Bar our Ticket Partners – My Moniker and The Kilt Studio.
Two other forthcoming gigs are also payable this time round and are PAY at the DOOR and Online Ticket only.
So if you liked GALLUS COOPER and FOREVERR YOUNG last time round you will wan’t to get your tickets in advance. No printed tickets will be made available sorry, so get online and get them in advance or make sure you are in the Q when the doors open.

What can you say about this line up apart from holy $hit Batman.
It’s got a bit of everything in there. Established local and Scottish acts with a guest appearance from Jer from Nashville who is in the UK touring is making a trip up to the Dread specially for you guys. It’s just a wee guest slot this time round but may see him in 2013 with his full band.
Its FREE to come in an see but COME Early !! We are expecting the action to fire off earlier than normal so make sure your in for 8 – that’s EIGHT !
Check them out.
Rock Bar opens at 4pm with the live action not far off 8pm tonight with the ROCK CLUB upstairs taking the night through till 3am straight after The Blacklights.

These guys always knock out some superb tracks that you normally don’t hear mixed in with all your favourites. Nearly two hours of some classics and upto date Rock and Bluesy tunes always guaranteed.
FREE Entry gig again with the guys on stage around 9pm.
Rock Bar is open from noon – Mike on the Decks from 7pm leading upto JOJO COKE then the action switches upstairs to the ROCK CLUB till 3am straight after the band.

Making their debut in Scotland all the way from London we have Lecarla.
The Lost are coming down from the Aviemore area – A bunch of young lads that knock out an old sound that you have to hear – honestly another special band finding their way to the Dread !
Finally Scotland’s very own awesome QUO tribute that will have you Rocking all over…..well I had to say it.

Another stonking weekend over the both levels at the Dread.
Superb live free to see action from Coholic, Dixie Fried, Warren and Chasar.
Great to see so many people coming for the first time and hope you enjoyed the music and the venue.
More great comments from the bands and the public loving the layout and the atmosphere.
If you’ve not hit the Dread yet or in a while – what’s stopping you !
Great job from the Rock Jocks playing some killer tunes yet again….

Friday 20th July
STUNTMAN MIKE and THE DETOURS.
Some amazing new material in the pipeline from both bands you might be lucky, and treated to a sneak preview this weekend at the Dread. Always a great night from these guys so get down and get a good spot.
Always a great energy when these two bands double up especially on our live stage – So don’t be late.
All out July gigs are FREE to come and SEE.

Saturday 21st July
ESTRELLA
Originally from the Thurso area these lads are all over the Uk at the moment and nominated for this years Scottish New Music award of LOUD / METAL RECORDING of the YEAR.
Be Part of the “Come Out to Play” Album Debut Tour from Estrella & be prepared for a Quality Rocking tonight in this FREE to SEE Event. 
Listen out for some killer covers along the way tonight also mixed into the awesome original material.
Make sure you Bring a few extra quid for a superb album produced by an ex-Ozzy and Uriah Heep band member. You know you want to !
